This has been probably one of the more adventurous trips ive had since being married. As most of you know I’m not a huge fan of driving more than 15 miles to and from anywhere, so does neil. Traffic would probably be one of the reasons why we refuse to drive anywhere past orange county. The other reason would be gas prices and third would be our little ones that we have to leave at home… we have to make sure that we come home by six so they can have dinner. Today was a good day to have a field trip for me and neil. We figured we’d take our friends who are going back home to the philippines to LA to see what’s beyond orange county.
First stop. TITO’s TACOS. For people who have known me for a long time, everytime i hear LA or culver city, i always bring up Titos tacos. I love love love their tacos. and their salsa… OMG!!! TO DIE FOR. Im not sure what they put in there but you really have to try it for yourself. For sure they use fresh tomatoes, maybe some salt, cilantro, bit of lime juice and maybe something else but seriously guys, if you ever find yourselves in culver city or going somewhere past LAX on the 40, make sure you take some time to check this place out. The line starts getting long at noon so try to come in before noon. We got in at around 1130. it was perfect! I havent had tito’s tacos in five years i think and i kept telling neil how i wanted him to taste their tacos. mmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!! I used to be able to eat at least 4 but today ive struggled finishing my third one. I was full after two but gluttony told me to have one more and so i gave in. FOOD COMA!!! I could hardly move after all three thankfully we had a long day ahead of us.

Second and third stops were 3rd st. Promenade in Santa Monica and then off to Hollywood and Highland. A bit touristy but fun. I like santa monica. There’s always something new to see. I love seeing the street performers. They’re so talented. Hollywood and highland was our next stop. Once you’re a tourist who’s in southern california, you cant leave CA without seeing the ever-famous avenue of the stars, kodak theatre, Manns Chinese theatre, wax museum and not to forget, the impersonators of well-known movie characters. we were lucky to have seen a couple of them… although the main attraction to me was this little english bulldog puppy who was sooo so so so cute, made me want to have one…then again, ive got my two puggies and a mutt.

Last stop. Hooters. Famous for it’s wings (right) , we figured we’d take our friends to HOOTERS for a light dinner or at least we thought it would be a light one. We ended up ordering 30 pieces of wings in three different flavors. 10 wings in spicy garlic, 10 in parmesean and herb, and the last 10 wings was in samurai sauce. Samurai was the definite winner. It’s almost like teriyaki wings but maybe 4x better. Our friend loved it so much. i dont know what he was thinking but he was pretty much eating them so fast that all of a sudden he shouted Owww Owwwwww (ouching sound) i thought he burned his tongue from the hot wings. I asked him if he did and he said no… so i asked why he started yelling ouch… he said that he was trying to eat his samurai wings and it was so good that he ended up biting his own finger. MY GOSH, talk about finger lickin good! hahaha!!! It was really funny (maybe funnier if you were there to witness it). unthinkable if you ask me but i guess the sauce was really THAT GOOD.
